Seismic response analysis and modal identification of a full-scale five-story base-isolated building tested on the NEES@UCSD shake table

This paper presents the analysis of seismic response and identification dynamic properties an equivalent linear time-invariant model a full-scale five-story base-isolated reinforced concrete building tested on unidirectional [email protected] shake table. A sequence seven scaled historic earthquake records was applied by table to building, progressively increasing demand structure its nonstructural components systems. The effects isolation system elongating predominant period concentrating displacement in layer, augmenting energy dissipation capacity are investigated. Low-amplitude white noise (WN) base excitation tests were conducted before after each test ambient vibration (AV) data recorded continuously for approximately sixteen days containing performed. Because low intensity excitations, quasi-linear is assumed, allowing modal parameters viscously damped be estimated from during WN AV tests. Different state-of-the-art methods, including output-only input-output used estimate building.
